Working towards better attendance at schools in the Barkly
Posted on: 10 February 2021, 2:03pm
The Remote School Attendance Strategy (RSAS) and Parent and Community Engagement (PaCE) teams have teams busy around the community schools and Tennant Creek over the past two weeks helping get the children to school.
All RSAS and PaCE workers have been engaging in getting as many children to attend every day.
Here in Tennant Creek at the Primary School, we have started the year off with an introduction and welcome to all the teachers (new and old) and a briefing of what our programs do and planning meetings to see what we can do better this year.
We look forward to working in partnership to increase attendance said RSAS Supervisor Joe Mayers.
The RSAS and PaCE team’s manager has been and will be engaging with the Local Authority Community Groups across the Barkly Region with the aid of Barkly Regional Council each month to provide updates and planning of events regarding school attendance.
We welcome the support and partnership of these local groups.
School is important to our leader of tomorrow.
So, send your children to school every day.
