Canteen Creek (Owaritilla Community) Remote Student Attendance Strategy (RSAS) workers have new transport for chasing up the children not at school.
The bikes will make it easier for the RSAS workers to get around and are quite a site to see in the early morning.
RSAS Manager Ms Anita Mayers said: “When the request came through for the bikes, we thought ‘that’s different!’”
“But we went ahead and purchased the bikes, extra tyres, tubes and all the safety gear for the workers.
“We are very pleased the community and school are getting behind the workers and the work they do to get the children to school.”
In the second week of the school term, the RSAS and PaCE teams travelled to Elliott with supplies to take part in the Families as First Teachers event and cook the barbecue for the community.
Many families with young children took part in the events.
A great day was had by all and the next day, Elliott School held an open day and enjoyed another community barbeque.
The Elliott PAK media unit were on the scene and scored some great footage of the events.
