School is important, don’t miss a day!

AS we come to the end of the first week of this school term we have noticed the increasing number of children not attending school.
Children are walking the streets in Tennant Creek all hours and when asked what they are up to, they reply we are visiting and then questioned more as to when they will be returning to their homes some say times from one week to several weeks.
So many children are away from their community schools and visiting other towns and communities.
Parents and carers should be aware of the impact that missing anytime from school effects the education outcomes of their children.
If children are away from their normal schools for more than a few days they should be enrolled in the schools where they are visiting.
Education is too important to our children’s future and we as carers and parents need to make sure we give then access to education.
Keeping your children from attending school can lead to parents and carers being fined or welfare payments being jeopardised.
On a note of applying yourself to what getting a better education can achieve, we would like to congratulate local girl Sarah Goddard on graduating as a qualified doctor.
You should be proud Sarah as you have come a long way from when we first sent you off to
Dont Miss A Day1
