A colourful way to end the school holidays

THE Papulu Apparr-Kari Language Centre crew put on a Colour Smash event for youth to celebrate the end off school holidays and alert all the kids about the start of the new school year.
This event followed on from the successful event held last year by the Youth Leadership Group under the Red Cross.
It was a great day and all who attended were quickly covered in a rainbow of hues and big smiles on there faces.

Many people were gathered hours before the event started and were eager to take part.

Young and old had a great time and afterwards enjoyed a barbeque prepared by the Yellow Shirt teams.

The Colour Smash gave an opportunity for the Yellow Shirts and Tennant Creek Primary School principle to talk to parents, children and carers about the importance of school attendance and let them know what support there is available to help get children to school. The event was funded through the Youth Vibe Holiday grants and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

The Yellow Shirt crew (RSAS and PaCE) look forward to seeing every child at school this year and will be calling on those who are not at school to see why not.

So remember: School every day is the only way to get a better future!
