Our CDEP program concentrates on four key objectives:

• Meaningful employment experiences for particpants to assist their move to full time work
• SRA development projects
• Facilitating Business Development
• Extensive training opportunities

CDEP employment
Our CDEP program is designed to give a broad range of experiences to participants to allow for them to draw meaningful experiences from their work. We have people working directly with languages and the wide range of skills this entails; there are opportunities in childcare; assisting the schools throughout the Barkly; media, both traditional and new media skills; catering; gardening and grounds work; welding and metal fabrication; office skills and administration; and of course availing themselves of our extensive training programs.

SRA Projects
We are currently involved in two SRA projects. The project with the Tennant Creek Town Council allows for placement of CDEP participants into a range of experiences within the Town Council's structure with the outcome of a number of full time jobs for those most suitable. The co-operation between the Town Council and Papulu Apparr-kari is a major step forward for agreements between indigenous and non-indigenous organisations.
The second SRA is a music program to assist muscians and the youth in town to develop their musical talents and record locally. It is in cooperation with Barkly Arts and Juliakari Council.

Facilitating Business Development
We are currently working towards the establishment of business enterprises in media, trailer manufacture and metal fabrication, and catering. The facilitating of these enterprises will see economic independance and full time jobs created for indigenous people. The move towards economic independance for indigenous people is a major focus for our CDEP section.
