Papulu Apparr-kari Aboriginal Corporation is the Indigenous Language Center in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory of Australia responsible for the preservation, maintenance, and revival of the 16 indigenous languages of the Barkly Region. In addition we are developing three business ventures to increase our economic independance and provide real employment opportunities for indigenous people.

Firstly is a media production unit (Pak Media) specialising in the publication of local indigenous stories as books with audio pdf's, and DVD documentaries, along with a variety of corporate video, graphic design and print services; secondly Pak Trailers, a trailer manufacture and general welding business, and thirdly Tastebuds, a catering business.

The Association has the following objectives:

  • To keep our living languages alive and strong, and document our languages no longer in common use
  • To provide language services to our members and mainstream society
